The water here is safe to drink, it is tested regularly.

One of the “things” about country living is septic systems…This one is very old so do keep that in mind. Limit shower times and use toilet tissue sparingly. As the saying goes, “if it’s yellow, let it mellow”.

We recycle here. Glass, cans and plastics go in the blue box, located in the basement. (Please rinse them prior to placing them in the box)

Paper products can be placed in the box in the basement or burned in the outdoor fire pit. Garbage costs $2.00 per bag and bag tags can be purchased at the store. Place tagged and tied bags by the basement door.

Here by the lake we have very hard water. Kindly hand dry dishes and cutlery to prevent hard water build-up.

There is a binder that has information about Port Albert and maps of the surrounding areas. It also tells of the history of these cottages. Read through and discover what awaits you.
